Tubeology are a company making radically new tube flies, taking the normal tube and making it into an extremely versatile and adaptable piece of kit.
A pack consists of tubes of various lengths, different colour and size heads that screw onto the tubes, spinner blades of various colours and sizes, tubing to make flying "C"'s and material to make your own flies.
From one fly you can make so many variants that you really only need one small pack to cover all eventualities. You thread your line through the tube, tie a loop in the end and pass this over the hook. This then slides into the tube and from using different length tubing you can move the hook from the tail to the middle of the fly.
If you want to change the fly, say, a different head colour, pull the hook out, pop off the loop, unscrew the head and remove it. Pop on a different colour, heavier head, one with eyes, what ever it is you fancy, re-attach the hook and your back in action in seconds.
I now need to learn to tie my own flies as Andy, Director of the company, is tying mine for me at the moment. He was kind enough to tie some Sand Eel patterns for me recently which are going to be used for Bass fishing. They are extremely lifelike in appearance.
An excellent piece of kit that I have only started finding out the almost limitless applications for. I will be getting a lot of use from this amazing kit!
