I was coaching 2 people from North London, Christine and Stephen, who drove over from Tottenham for the day.
We went on Park Lake where I thought the fishing would be quite easy, as I wanted to make sure they caught a few fish.
We set up the gear and got them fishing, after only a few minutes they were into fish. Carp from a few ounces to about 3lb were caught during an interesting day.
The weather was very changeable and this was making the fish a bit tricky to catch. We stared off fishing tight to the bottom, but changed this during the morning to fishing mid water.
This is were we found the Carp to be hiding, but they were still being very difficult. Eventually I decided on using baitbands and putting on a 6mm pellet, this was like throwing a switch as the Carp just started coming out one after the other. We sprayed pellets onto the surface and cast over the top and they loved it, with fish up to 3lb being caught.
A thoroughly good day out.
