With the choice between the front or back, the lads decided to fish the front section on the main bank. Charlie left the first 2 swims clear so as not to disturb any fish sat in the corner by the reeds. Joe set up to his right and Josh was on the end again.
With combi links and braid hooklinks they armed themselves with White Chocolate and Pineapple baits.
Joe turned out to be the Bream king for the day, with a succession of Bream to 4lb. Josh soon had a large Brown Goldfish soon after starting but Charlie was finding it hard to get the fish going.
With the pressure rising the fish didn’t appear to be moving around or showing, we couldn’t find them at all. The day was dragging a bit as we worked hard to find them and try to get them going.
Eventually I took a walk to have a look in the left hand bay. As I walked around I saw some silt getting kicked up ans quickly went back to get some bait. I carefully spread some pineapple pellets and broken boilies in the area, then got Charlie to cast a bait right on its head. Half hour later Charlie was rewarded with his only take of the day and it turned out to be the best fish of the day.
It had been a difficult day, but with perseverance it had worked out well in the end.
